Bourbonnais man arrested on domestic battery charges, weapons stockpile found

BOURBONNAIS- A man was arrested Monday afternoon inside Tri-Star Estates subdivision on counts of domestic battery, weapons and drug charges.

The Kankakee County Sheriff arrested Salvador D. Salazar, 34 on St. Francis Drive in Bourbonnais around 2:30pm Monday.  

Taken from the home were various firearms along with 1000 rounds of ammunition, armor plate carriers, ballistic vests, and around five pounds of marijuana along with suspected LSD and mushrooms.

Salazar was charged on eight counts including domestic battery and armed violence, along counts of resisting a police officer, illegal possession of ammunition, and owning a firearm without valid foid card.

Salazar is being housed at the Jerome Combs Detention Center in Kankakee awaiting a bond hearing scheduled for later today.
