Central Illinois Braces for Weekend Thunderstorms Amid Pleasant Week

Springfield, IL – Pleasant weather is expected for central Illinois throughout the week, with daytime highs reaching the middle 70s.

According to the US National Weather Service Central Illinois, showers and thunderstorms are anticipated to return to the area starting Friday night and continuing through the weekend. Wednesday and Thursday will see sunny skies with highs between 73°F and 77°F. Friday will be partly cloudy with highs up to 79°F before the storms arrive.

Saturday and Sunday are expected to have highs ranging from 74°F to 84°F, with a 50% to 30% chance of thunderstorms, respectively. Nighttime temperatures will range from 46°F to 65°F.
