Chicago, IL – Two Arrested During DePaul University Encampment Dispersal

Chicago, IL – Two individuals were arrested following the dispersal of a demonstrator encampment at DePaul University early this morning.

According to the Chicago Police Department, DePaul University signed a trespassing complaint today, prompting police and university administration to clear the encampment, which had been set up on April 30, 2024, in the 2300 block of N. Seminary. Despite multiple dispersal orders, two individuals remained and were subsequently arrested for obstruction of the roadway on W. Belden at 6:20 a.m. They have since been released.
