FRANKFORT, IL – The eagerly anticipated Concerts on the Green series is set to kick off in just one month, offering a diverse lineup of musical performances for the community to enjoy.
Presented by the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce, the series promises an unforgettable summer experience for music enthusiasts of all ages.
Taking place on summer Sunday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Concerts on the Green will be held at Breidert Green, located at the corner of White and Kansas Streets in historic downtown Frankfort. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, picnics, and of course, their friends and family.
The schedule for the 2023 Concerts on the Green series has been announced, featuring a range of genres and musical styles.
The series will commence on June 18 with Bernie Glim’s country tunes. Other notable acts include Beatology, a Beatles tribute band performing on July 30, and Sushi Roll, known for their rock, pop, and dance hits, taking the stage on June 25.
Classical and pop enthusiasts can look forward to the String Quartet of the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, scheduled for August 6. On July 2, the Frankfort Brass Band will deliver a patriotic and Americana-themed performance. Grace & John will showcase their pop tunes on August 13, while The Walk-Ins will take audiences on a musical journey through the decades on July 16.
Blues lovers won’t be disappointed, as Dave Weld & the Imperial Flames, a renowned blues band, will be performing on August 20. Newer country hits will be featured with Wild Daisy on July 23, and the series will conclude with the Outcast Jazz Band, presenting big band swing on August 27.
In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be canceled, with the exception of August 6 and August 13. On those dates, the performances will be moved a few blocks away to the Frankfort Park District in the Founder’s Room at 140 Oak St., ensuring that the music never stops.
