BOURBONNAIS – One person is dead after a fatal crash Saturday afternoon.
According to Bradley Police it began Saturday when officers received two traffic complaints in reference to a black Chevrolet Camaro. Around 4:30 pm, multiple units were dispatched to 2700 East 4000N Rd for a single car crash, involving that vehicle.
“The vehicle, a black Chevrolet Camaro, left the roadway and struck a utility pole breaking it and continued striking a tree in the front yard of a residence where it came to rest.” Bradley Police said in a statement Monday.
A passenger, identified as 20-year-old Dayton R. Roy, was transported to Riverside Medical Center where he was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver, 28-year-old Victor E. Apted, was treated for minor injuries at a nearby hospital.
Following an investigation with Illinois State Police, Apted was later taken into custody on charges of Reckless Homicide and is being held at Jerome Combs Detention Center.
