Historic Oak Forest Bowl Reduced to Ashes in early morning Fire Saturday

OAK FOREST, Ill. – A landmark bowling alley located was destroyed by a three-alarm fire early Saturday morning.

The fire broke out at Oak Forest Bowl, located at 15240 S. Cicero Ave., around 3 a.m. and lasted for several hours until crews were able to extinguish the blaze. 

Firefighters from multiple departments worked to extinguish the blaze, which was believed to have started in the adjacent outdoor area before spreading to the building.

No injuries have yet to be reported.

Built in 1960 and constructed of brick and metal, Oak Forest Bowl was a popular entertainment destination for generations of south suburban residents.
