Kankakee, IL – The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced the closure of southbound Interstate 57 through Kankakee for three consecutive nights starting from Tuesday, March 28.

To facilitate repairs, I-57 will be closed at 8 p.m. each night and will reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use the posted detour via Illinois 50 and U.S. 45 / 52. Delays are expected, and drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and to be prepared for slow and stopped traffic.
