Illinois Motorcyclist Attacked by Witnesses Following Collision with Child in Kankakee

KANKAKEE, IL – A motorcyclist and a five-year-old child were rushed to the hospital following a tragic collision on North Entrance Avenue Wednesday evening, with the motorcyclist allegedly becoming target of a beating by witnesses to the crash.

According to City Police, the motorcyclist, whose identity remains undisclosed, reported the child unexpectedly darted in front of him, leaving him with little time to react. In an effort to attempt to avoid disaster, the biker allegedly braked hard and laid his bike on its side, but it was too late.

The child is expected to recover, but the incident sparked outrage in the community. No charges have been announced surrounding either incident. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
