Illinois Train Crash with Vehicle Results in Fatality Thursday afternoon

BLOOMINGTON, IL – A devastating incident occurred in Arrowsmith on Thursday, when a passenger vehicle and a train collided near 3500 E, just slightly north of 1100 North Rd. 

According to McLean County Sheriff’s Office reports, upon being informed at around 1:43 p.m., promptly dispatched rescue units to the scene. The injured individual was rushed to St. Joseph Medical Center, but sadly, was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. 

Sheriff Matt Lane, in collaboration with the McLean County Coroner’s Office and investigators from Norfolk Southern, is delving deeper into the tragic event. Those with relevant information are urged to contact Sgt. Jon Hofmann at (309) 888-5006.
