Indiana Boy Dies Following Fatal Accident involving Father Near Playground

ST. JOSEPH COUNTRY, IN – A 5-year-old boy was killed Saturday after he was accidentally ran over by his father at an apartment complex.

According to St. Joseph County Police, it happened around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, when officers arriving at Castle Point Apartments found a chaotic scene where a child was injured in critical condition.

Initial reports suggested a horrifying incident involving a shooting, but police quickly clarified that the child was not shot. Instead, the investigation revealed an unimaginable accident – the child’s father had accidentally run over his son in the parking lot near the apartment complex’s playground.

The child was rushed to an area hospital where they were later succumbed to their injuries.  No charges have been announced in the incident.
