KANKAKEE, IL – A collision between a motorcycle and a semi-truck Wednesday night sent near the intersection of Court Street and I-57 left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.
Emergency services were summoned to the scene after authorities received reports of the collision around 6:30pm. Upon arrival, officers discovered a motorcyclist sprawled in the middle of the road. A courageous bystander was administering CPR to the injured rider, identified as a 31-year-old man from Momence, whose name has not been released.
Promptly, emergency crews arrived at the scene, swiftly transporting the injured motorcyclist to a local medical facility. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, medical professionals decided to airlift the victim to a hospital in the Chicago area for specialized treatment.
Preliminary investigations into the incident revealed that the motorcyclist was heading eastbound on the 2000 block of East Court Street. As he approached a traffic light, his trajectory led to an unfortunate collision with the rear bumper of a semi-truck.
