Coroner identifies victims of fatal Route 45 wreck

PEOTONE, IL – The Will County Coroner’s Office has released the names of the two victims killed in the fatal crash that occurred on Route 45 in Peotone on Sunday.

Barbara Stoll, 67, and Tyler Stoll, 22, were identified as the victims who died at the scene of the multi-vehicle collision. Tyler Stoll was a resident of Bourbonnais, IL, and Barbara Stoll was a resident of Manteno, IL.

According to Illinois State Police, the accident happened when the driver of a Chevrolet Impala ran through a stop sign and collided with a Kia vehicle traveling north on Route 45. The Kia went off the road and caught fire, while the Chevrolet Impala continued traveling east and struck a Ford Fusion that was heading west on the same road.

The drivers of the Chevrolet Impala and Ford Fusion were taken to the hospital with injuries. The final cause and manner of death for Barbara Stoll and Tyler Stoll will be determined later pending the outcome of autopsy, police, and toxicological reports.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Wilmington Road and Route 45 on Sunday, March 19th, at around 8:18 a.m. The intersection was closed for several hours while authorities worked to clear the wreckage and investigate the cause of the crash.

The Illinois State Police are still investigating the accident and urge anyone with information to contact them.
