Illinois Hotel hallway alleged altercation leads to Child abuse charges, Woman’s arrest warrant

MORRIS, Ill. – A $20,000 arrest warrant has been issued by Grundy County for Crystal Kahler, a Wilmington woman, who is facing allegations of battering her five-year-old child while in a Morris hotel hallway. 

Kahler, 31, has been charged with aggravated battery to a child and two counts of domestic battery.

According to court records, Kahler allegedly slapped her child in the face, which caused the child to strike their head on a vending machine. The incident occurred in a Morris hotel hallway.

Prosecutors have urged anyone who knows about Kahler’s whereabouts to contact Grundy County Sheriff’s police.

The warrant has caused concern and outrage in the community. Child abuse is a serious crime, and people are urged to report any such incidents immediately.
