Manteno Family Escapes Blaze

MANTENO, Ill. – A family is safe after a house fire broke out in their home in Eagles Landing Subdivision Friday evening around 5pm. Thanks to the quick response of local firefighters, the family was able to evacuate safely and the blaze was contained before it could spread to nearby homes.

Reports state that the fire began in the attic of the two-story home and quickly spread. The Manteno Fire Department received a box alarm alert and immediately dispatched multiple fire engines to the scene.

Despite the intensity of the blaze, the firefighters were able to contain it and prevent further damage to the home. 

No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
