Tinley Park Resident Robbed at Gunpoint in Oak Park, Suffers $70k Loss in Violent Assault

Oak Park, IL – A Tinley Park resident was left reeling after becoming the victim of an armed robbery in Oak Park, resulting in a loss of approximately $70,000. 

According to Oak Park Police reports it happened Thursday just before 10 a.m. in the 1000 block of Lake Street. That’s when reports say an unidentified male suspect forcibly entered the victim’s vehicle. Threatening the victim with a handgun, the suspect made verbal demands and resorted to physical violence, striking the victim. 

Reports go on to say the assailant managed to steal several valuable items, including a black iPhone 11, debit/credit cards, an insurance card, and a black grocery-style bag containing cash. The offender fled the scene in a red-colored vehicle, leaving the traumatized victim behind. The estimated value of the stolen items reaches an astonishing $70,000.

The Oak Park Police Department has launched a thorough investigation into this armed robbery to identify and apprehend the suspect. They are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or possesses information relevant to the case to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
