Body found in Des Plaines River near Channahon Monday

The Will County Coroner’s Office is reporting the death of an unidentified man after his body was found in the Des Plaines River, just shy of a mile downstream from the Des Plaines River Bridge. 

The body was found on the north side of the channel Monday near Channahon.  The Coroner’s Office announced the discovery late Monday night.

The Illinois State Police are investigating the incident.  More is expected Tuesday when an Autopsy is scheduled to be performed by the Coroner’s office.
