Illinois Men Nabbed in Indiana Following Cedar Lake Foot Chase

CEDAR LAKE, IN—A retail theft pursuit led Cedar Lake Police to arrest two Illinois men linked to a a CVS heist. 

Cedar Lake Police reports say the incident Saturday afternoon netted Duane L. Collins, 56 of Matteson, Illinois, and Demarco Guy, 25, of Crete, Illinois after alleged stolen goods and drug paraphernalia were spotted in their vehicle. 

A chase spanned from a car wash to a McDonald’s and back to CVS, where Guy’s resistance resulted in an officer’s injury and his own tasering. Officers later reportedly recovered stolen items are valued at over $600, with additional alleged stolen goods from a St. John Walgreens. 

The suspects now face multiple charges, including possession of cocaine and conspiracy.   Both are being held at the Lake County Jail.
