Hobart Drug Bust: Massive Haul Seized in Early Morning Raid

HOBART, IN – An early morning drug raid Friday in Hobart, Indiana, resulted in the apprehension of a 20-year-old suspect, Alexander Taylor. 

The Lake County Sheriff’s Department, acting on a tip received through the Tip411 mobile app, swung into action at 7 a.m. The operation, conducted jointly by the Lake County Drug Task Force and Lake County SWAT team, targeted Taylor’s residence in the 500 block of South Lawrence Street. 

Items seized items include:

  • $49,766 in U.S. currency
  • 3 pistols
  • 3 rifles
  • 49.5 lbs. of raw marijuana
  • 1.2 lbs. of packaged marijuana
  • 5.2 lbs. of pre-rolled cigars or cigarettes containing marijuana
  • 38 lbs. of gummy THC edibles
  • 45.4 lbs. of wax (concentrated THC)
  • 1/2 lb. of mushrooms
  • 1010 THC vape cartridges

Taylor now awaits his fate behind bars at the Lake County Jail, pending criminal charges. Sheriff Oscar Martinez Jr. praised the dedication and professionalism displayed by the Lake County Drug Task Force and Lake County SWAT Team in bringing the suspect to justice.
