Stuffing Shenanigans: Teen Arrested for Retail Theft, Assault at Joliet Walmart

JOLIET, IL — Kahdeem Weins, 18, was arrested on Easter Sunday for allegedly stuffing over $100 worth of merchandise into his pants at Walmart on Jefferson Street. 

Joliet Police Department took Weins into custody for retail theft, but things turned violent when he allegedly kicked one of the officers in the leg during the arrest. Weins is now facing aggravated battery to a peace officer charges, in addition to his retail theft charge and three active warrants.

According to reports, officers were informed that Weins was allegedly taking items out of their packaging and putting them in his pants. After arresting Weins without incident, an officer claimed Weins kicked them in the leg while being put into the back of the squad car. 

Weins, who had three active warrants for his arrest, was subsequently transported to the Joliet Police Department for processing and then transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.  He’s since been charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer along with retail theft.
