Tragic Accident on I-55: Pedestrian Struck and Killed

Mclean County, Ill. – A pedestrian was struck and killed Friday afternoon while attempting to cross I-55 southbound.

According to Illinois State Police, it happened around 4:45 p.m. when the pedestrian, identified as 58-year-old David E. Williams, attempted to cross at milepost 158.  Williams, of Bloomington, was struck by a 2018 Subaru Outback while running across the lanes.

The driver of the Subaru was not injured in the incident.

An investigation is ongoing with Illinois State Police Troop 5.  No charges have been announced in the case.
