Man arrested for Aggravated Robbery of Boost Mobile store after routine traffic stop on I-57

KANKAKEE – A suspect was arrested late Tuesday night in connection with the robbery of a Kankakee Boost Mobile Store.

According to City Police, it happened during a traffic stop on I-57 just after 10 p.m. Tuesday night.  During the stop they identified a suspect thought to be involved with the robbery.  Officers arrested 22-year-old Jontae L Baker of Dalton on alleged charges of Aggravated Robbery.  

Baker is now in custody at the Jerome Combs Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.

Baker was one of two individuals allegedly involved in the robbery of a phone store which saw an undisclosed amount of electronics stolen Monday.  The other suspect remains at large.
