Man claims involvement in shooting of Teen in Kankakee early Saturday morning

KANKAKEE – A 23-year-old man notified police he was involved in a shooting of a teenager early Saturday morning.

According to City Police it happened at 6:45 a.m. in the 200 block of South Elm Avenue.  That’s when officers responding to a call of shots fired discovered a 17-year-old who had been shot.  The teen was transported to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition.  

Details of the man’s involvement in the shooting are unknown at this time.  Kankakee Police continue to investigate the incident.
