Gardner Fire Chief Detains Suspect Who Fled Traffic Stop; Apprehension at BP Gas Station

GARDNER, IL – The Gardner Fire Chief is being hailed after detaining a suspect who fled a traffic stop on Sunday at I-55 and Gardner road. 

The suspect was eventually apprehended at a BP gas station in the area, thanks to the Fire Chief’s quick thinking.

The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office has not released any information regarding the reason for the traffic stop or why the suspect fled. However, they have confirmed that the Fire Chief’s actions helped to apprehend the suspect.

Residents in the area are relieved that the manhunt for the suspect is over. The Sheriff’s Office had urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities during the search.

The Sheriff’s Office is expected to release more information about the incident in the coming days. However, for now, the focus is on the Fire Chief and his commendable actions in detaining the suspect at the BP gas station in Gardner.
