WILLOWBROOK, Ill. — A shooting unfolded during an illegal street takeover in Willowbrook, near Chicago, resulting in at least 29 people injured, including one fatality.
According to witnesses on scene the incident occurred shortly before 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Honeysuckle Rose Lane and Route 83. Approximately 200 to 300 individuals had gathered for the illicit event when gunshots erupted.
Preliminary reports indicate that the wounded include one individual was pronounced dead at the scene, with two in critical condition.
Victims were supposed by countless agencies across Chicagoland responding to the scene, including a helicopter. At least eight victims arrived with gunshot wounds at nearby Hospitals
