ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – A chilling electronic footprint and incriminating testimony have led to a guilty verdict for Rease Pence, 18.

Last June, Jamie Binns, 28, and Samantha Lawson, 29, both of Niles, were discovered with fatal gunshot wounds at the Laurel Woods Apartments. Surveillance footage, cell phone records, and Pence’s own iCloud exposed a haunting premeditation: a switch-off of location services and a curious online search about latex gloves and fingerprints.

Witnesses further placed Pence at the scene, with one claiming Pence confessed to the crime. Awaiting sentencing in November, Pence faces a possible 45 to 85 years combined for murder and firearm enhancement charges.
