Twin Cities, MN – A line of storms is set to sweep through the Twin Cities region today, bringing the potential for 1-inch hail and severe weather conditions.

According to the US National Weather Service Twin Cities, these storms will move into western Minnesota by mid-afternoon, reach the Twin Cities area later in the afternoon, and extend into western Wisconsin by evening. Residents should prepare for the possibility of damaging winds, hail up to 1 inch in diameter, and isolated tornadoes. Widespread rainfall amounts of 0.5-1 inch could worsen ongoing flooding, particularly in areas already impacted.

In the aftermath of the storms, breezy northwest winds are expected from Wednesday through Friday, with gusts reaching 25-30 mph. This shift in weather could further impact local conditions and outdoor activities, potentially causing additional disruptions.
