Wisconsin – Cool, damp ground and steady river flow are shaping a slow-moving flood concern this morning across northeast Wisconsin.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, minor to moderate flooding continues along the Menominee and Wolf Rivers, with the most significant impacts near New London where water levels remain elevated. While crests have already occurred in many spots, standing water near riverbanks and low-lying roads still poses a risk through today.

Green Bay starts the day near 44°F under clear skies, but conditions turn warmer and calmer by afternoon with highs reaching 64°F. That dry stretch offers a brief window for cleanup and recovery along affected river areas. Still, saturated ground means any new rainfall could quickly run off into waterways.

Attention now shifts to late Thursday into Friday. Showers develop after midnight Thursday with rain chances increasing to 60%, followed by a more widespread soaking Friday with an 80% chance of rain. Rainfall totals could reach a half inch or more, especially in heavier bursts. That could slow the drop in river levels or even cause minor rises again.

Meteorologists are also tracking a broader Midwest system that may bring thunderstorms into Wisconsin late Thursday into Friday. Severe risk remains low locally, but heavier downpours could impact visibility and create ponding on roads like US-41.

The weekend trends quieter and cooler. Saturday and Sunday both bring highs near 61°F with partial sunshine, offering improved conditions for outdoor plans.
