Wilmington Teen Identified as Fatality in Rollover Crash

WILMINGTON, IL – A teenager was identified Sunday morning as the fatality in a rollover crash Saturday.

The Will County Coroner identified 17-year-old Chloe L. McCully of Wilmington, IL as the driver who lost her life in a rollover crash on Lorenzo Rd west of Cooper Rd in Wilmington Township.

According to the Office of Will County Coroner Laurie Summers, McCully was pronounced dead at the scene. At the time of the crash McCully was driving westbound on Lorenzo Rd when her vehicle veered off the road for reasons unknown, flipped over, and collided with a fixed object. Two other occupants in the car survived the accident but sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The Will County Sheriff’s Department has launched an investigation into the incident.

An autopsy performed Sunday determine the preliminary cause of death as multiple injuries resulting from a motor vehicle mishap.
