Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke with no visible flames emanating from the grain bin. A still alarm was issued at 11:48 AM, calling for additional resources.

According to MFPD, the fire crews established a water supply quickly, gained access to the bin, and located the fire inside. They employed an offensive strategy, successfully containing the flames and addressing hot spots in the grain. The fire was under control within an hour of the escalated response.

Firefighters remained on-site for overhaul procedures, in coordination with the plant manager. Crucially, all workers had evacuated safely before the arrival of the fire companies, and no injuries were reported among civilians or firefighters.
