Peotone Pedestrian Accident: Fatal Car vs Pedestrian Collision Claims Man’s Life

PEOTONE, IL – A 61-year-old man was killed after a vehicle struck him walking near Route 50 at the intersection of Corning and Harlem Avenue Wednesday night.

According to Peotone Police reports it happened at 7:52 pm. when a a 17-year-old Peotone teenage driver struck the man near the Speedway Gas Station.  The teen would later been treated for minor injuries and released.

Route 50 closed for several hours as authorities investigated the scene. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.  The identity of the victim has not been released.
