Shooting in Bolingbrook Traced to Family Dispute: Suspect Apprehended

BOLINGBROOK, IL – A tense manhunt in Bolingbrook came to a close today as police apprehended the suspect involved in a fatal shooting on the 300 block of Walnut Circle. 

According to Bolingbrook Police, Devon D. Davis, 33, the victim of the shooting, tragically did not survive and was declared deceased at a nearby hospital. The initial report of the shooting, believed to have stemmed from a family disagreement, was placed around 1:54 pm. Bolingbrook Police quickly launched an investigation, urging residents to avoid the area surrounding Boughton Rd and west of Route 53.

The tragic incident, not deemed random, put schools on lockdown and prompted shelter-in-place orders. Thankfully, all lockdowns have since been lifted. The investigation continues, as local police collaborate with the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office on formal charges against the suspect.
