KANKAKEE – Multiple people were injured in a crash Saturday night that sent three to the hospital.

According to Illinois State Police it happened just before 8 p.m. when a car headed westbound on 8000 S Road reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign at Route 45/52.  That’s when a car headed southbound on Route 45/52 drove into the path of the vehicle, causing it to roll over and come to a rest in a ditch before catching fire.

The driver inside the car at the time of the fire managed to escape before it became fully engulfed in flames.  Two people inside the other vehicle were transported to the hospital for injuries.
