Twisted Night: Kankakee County Ravaged by Two Tornadoes After Dark

Kankakee County, IL – A stormy Friday night turned into a night of terror for residents in Kankakee County as not one, but two tornadoes struck after 11 pm. The National Weather Service Chicago confirmed the devastating twisters on Saturday night.

According to the National Weather Service, the first tornado, rated as an EF-0, hit near Kankakee, while the second, classified as an EF-1, struck Momence. As of now, details regarding peak wind speeds and tracks of these tornadoes are yet to be disclosed, but the agency assures updates will be posted later.

In the aftermath of the destruction, the National Weather Service dispatched two survey teams to assess the extent of the damage across Will and Kankakee Counties. The teams will determine the causes behind the damage and provide further information in the coming days.

The scale of devastation caused by the twin tornadoes has left communities in shock and the authorities working tirelessly to assess the situation and offer support to affected residents. 

As residents recover from the harrowing experience, the National Weather Service advises everyone to remain vigilant during the ongoing storm season.
