Will County, IL – Volunteers are invited to join the Forest Preserve District of Will County’s Volunteer Morning programs for the first quarter of 2024. These events offer a unique opportunity for nature lovers to engage with their local environment and contribute positively to their community. Participants need to register in advance and complete a waiver on ReconnectWithNature.org.
According to the Forest Preserve District, the programs will run from 9 a.m. to noon and will mainly involve brush control. The schedule for the first quarter includes locations such as Monee Reservoir, Sugar Creek Preserve, and Hickory Creek Junction, among others, with activities ranging from brush control to fence removal.
Volunteers are advised to wear clothing suitable for outdoor work and varying weather conditions, including long pants, sturdy shoes, and socks covering the ankles. It’s also recommended to bring water and snacks. The activities will occur in natural terrain, which may be uneven.
