BOURBONNAIS – A Winter Storm Warning continues for portions of northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana with anywhere from 7 to 12 inches of snow possible by nightfall.

According to the National Weather Service Sunday, occasional to moderate snow snowfall with winds up to 30 miles per hour is ahead for us today. Possibly 1-3 additional inches of snowfall for a total accumulation of 7 to 12 inches before it’s all over.

Overnight, multiple accidents were reported by Illinois State Police in the area, including cars slipping off roadways, into ditches, with one report of a mustang hitting a pole. District 21 Ashkum reported a vehicle had flipped over on I-57 near mile post 303 sometime around 6 am this morning.

Troopers allowed towing to begin again after conditions improved just after 9:30 am.

COMED has not reported any significant outages locally as of this morning with only one incident near Frankfort that was affecting roughly five people around noon.
