Joliet Suspect in Seven Shooting Deaths Found Dead in Texas

Joliet, IL – Romeo Nance, the suspect in the tragic shooting deaths of eight people in Joliet, Illinois, has been found dead in Texas. 

According to the Joliet Police Department, Nance was located near Natalia, Texas by U.S. Marshals. The encounter with Texas law enforcement officials at around 8:30 p.m. Monday evening ended with Nance taking his own life. The shootings, which occurred on Sunday and Monday, left five victims in one home and two in another on the same block, all from gunshot wounds. Nance was reportedly a resident of one of the homes involved. The identification of the victims and their causes of death will be determined by the Will County Coroner’s Office.

This case, which spans multiple incidents and locations, continues to be an active investigation.
