Hoover, AL – Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Sunday morning in a residential area of Hoover, located in Jefferson County within the Birmingham metro.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 10:52 a.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2026, to the 2100 block of Emerald Point Drive following a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, deputies found an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
According to officials, personnel with Rocky Ridge Fire & Rescue also responded to the scene and pronounced the man deceased. The Hoover Police Department assisted during the initial response and investigation.
Preliminary information indicates the shooting is believed to be domestic-related. Authorities have not released the identity of the victim at this time.
According to investigators, no arrests have been made and no charges have been filed as of Sunday afternoon. The case remains active as detectives continue to gather evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
