Hoffman Estates, IL – Residents in Hoffman Estates and across Cook County will have the opportunity to learn potentially lifesaving skills during a CPR and AED training course scheduled for Wednesday evening, May 20.
According to the Hoffman Estates Fire Department, the Heartsaver CPR/AED course will run from 6 to 9 p.m. at Fire Station #24, located at 5775 Beacon Pointe Drive. The class is designed for individuals with little to no prior medical training and focuses on practical emergency response techniques.
Participants will learn when to call 9-1-1, how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and how to properly use an automated external defibrillator (AED). The course also includes instruction on how to assist someone who is choking, providing a well-rounded introduction to critical first-response skills that can be used in everyday situations.
Fire officials emphasize that early intervention during cardiac emergencies can significantly improve survival outcomes, making community training programs like this one an important public safety resource.
