Fishers, Indiana – Drivers in northern Hamilton County need to reroute immediately as a key stretch of Allisonville Road is shut down in both directions following a cut gas line that’s disrupting traffic and raising safety concerns.
According to the Fishers Fire Department, the closure spans from 126th Street to 131st Street and remains in effect until crews secure the damaged line. Emergency responders have blocked access while utility teams work to contain the leak and assess the area.
The shutdown affects a heavily traveled corridor used by commuters heading into Fishers and nearby Indianapolis suburbs. Police are urging drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes such as State Road 37 or Olio Road to bypass the closure. Nearby neighborhoods, especially those north of the incident zone, may notice a natural gas odor as crews continue repairs.
Officials have not provided a timeline for reopening, and the closure could extend into peak travel hours. Residents should limit travel near the site and report strong gas smells to local authorities. Additional updates are expected as the situation develops.
