Kankakee, IL – The holidays are near and as children prepare their Christmas lists, they will get an early visit from Santa Claus. The public is invited to “Christmas in the Chamber,” an evening of fun that will feature a Christmas movie, treats and story time.

“I received a special request to see if Santa could make a stop in the City of Kankakee before Christmas which led to our team planning this event. We are excited to bring this event to the community for the first time and we expect a good turnout. I’m really looking forward to seeing the joy on all of the kids’ faces,” said Mayor Wells-Armstrong.

Youth are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit and watch the movie. “Christmas in the Chamber” is free and open to the public. The event will be held Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the City Council chamber located in the Public Safety Building at 385 East Oak Street, Kankakee, IL. The City of Kankakee is looking to create more events for residents. For all events, visit www.citykankakee-il.gov
