Monee Reservoir’s Surf-N-Turf Concert Offers Unique Waterfront Experience

MONEE, IL – On Saturday, July 15, music lovers in Monee can embark on a one-of-a-kind experience at Monee Reservoir’s Surf-N-Turf concert. The serene lakeside setting will provide the backdrop for an evening filled with captivating melodies, refreshing water activities, delectable food, and breathtaking sunset views.

From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the talented band, The Stingers, will take center stage at the Monee Reservoir amphitheater, delivering an eclectic mix of rock, soul, funk, and R&B tunes. Whether you choose to enjoy the music from the comfort of land or from a kayak or canoe on the water, the band’s repertoire promises to take listeners on a sonic journey ranging from smooth and soulful melodies to upbeat and energetic beats.

“This Surf-N-Turf event will be a unique evening out at the reservoir,” expressed Bob Bryerton, a program manager at the Forest Preserve District of Will County. “Whether you decide to bring a kayak or canoe and enjoy the concert from the water or bring a chair and sit along the shore, you’re in for an unforgettable experience. This lineup offers not only great music, food, and fun but also a relaxed atmosphere with stunning views of the sun setting over the reservoir. It truly encapsulates what makes Monee Reservoir a remarkable preserve to visit.”

Visitors to the event will have the opportunity to paddle across the expansive 46-acre lake in their own kayaks or canoes. Additionally, watercraft rentals will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Monee Reservoir Visitor Center, ensuring everyone can partake in the aquatic festivities.

Cravings for delicious eats will be satisfied by The Bait Shop food truck, which will serve up mouthwatering dishes including fish, shrimp, chicken wings, and beef Polish sausage. Patrons looking to complement their meal with a refreshing beverage are welcome to bring their own, but only beer and wine will be allowed.

The event, open to all ages, requires no registration and is free of charge. Monee Reservoir is conveniently located on Ridgeland Avenue, south of Pauling Road, in Monee Township.
