ORLAND PARK – Kids will be required to leave Orland Square Mall on Fridays and Saturdays beginning at 3 pm.

Unless their accompanied by an adult over the age of 21.

It’s part of a new Youth Supervision Policy put into place by Orland Square Mall after a fight broke out December 26th among a group of kids. At least eight minors were arrested and charged as juveniles during the incident with others treated at the scene for minor injuries.

“The program is a response to feedback from the community and community leaders, as the center reinforces its commitment to the community to provide a pleasant, family friendly shopping environment.” Simon Malls said in a statement posted to the Orland Square website this week.

Under the policy, unsupervised guests under 18 must leave Orland Square by 3 pm on Friday and Saturdays or be joined by a parent over 21 by that time. Identification will also reportedly be checked by mall representatives.
