Bradley shooting turns deadly after ‘domestic battery’ report

BRADLEY – A man has died of a gunshot wound suffered in Bradley early Sunday morning.

According to reports, Bradley Police were called Sunday morning around 9:30 am to a report of what had been called a domestic battery at a home in the 200 block of South Douglas Avenue.  Upon arrival, officers had found a man had been shot and the alleged shooter had already fled the scene. 

The victim, later identified by the Coroner’s Office as 31-year-old Antonio Allen of Kankakee, died of his wounds. 

Illinois State Police and local area departments later arrested Corey T. Williams after an investigation as the alleged shooter in the incident.  Williams lead officers on a chase where he eventually tried to run into a home in Kankakee. Williams was taken to the Jerome Combs Detention Center and will appear in front of a court later today.
