Juvenile Cyclist at Fault After Route 50 Collision: Police

KANKAKEE COUNTY, Ill. – A collision between a juvenile cyclist and an SUV on Route 50 in Kankakee County last night has left authorities pointing the finger at the young rider. According to Illinois State Police, the incident occurred around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Route 50 and 11000 North Road.

Witnesses report that the juvenile cyclist failed to yield the right of way and recklessly pulled out in front of the southbound SUV. The impact resulted in a minor injury to the cyclist, who was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

No charges have been filed at this time, and the identity of the cyclist has not been disclosed.
