KANKAKEE – Multiple vehicles were stolen Tuesday in the City.

According to police reports, one incident happened Tuesday in the 1500 block of West Court Street when a man entered a gas station for coffee. He later found his car heading the other way on South Curtis after someone jumped in it and took off while the car was left running.

Later that afternoon a man left his car running in an alley behind 400 South Lincoln. According to witness reports, someone jumped in the car and took off before later wrecking the car at Chicago and Station. The driver staggered off following the wreck.

Police remind drivers not to leave vehicles unattended and running, giving thieves an easy target. If you have any additional information on either incident, you can call Crimestoppers at 815-932-7463.
