Champaign Police Investigate Robbery at Credit Union on Mattis Avenue

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Champaign Police responded to a robbery at a credit union on S. Mattis Avenue Tuesday afternoon. 

According to police reports, a suspect entered at 2:48 p.m. and displayed a handgun, and demanded money before fleeing with an undisclosed amount. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as an African American male in his late 20s or early 30s. 

Officers are searching for witnesses and video footage, urging residents with surveillance systems to come forward. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Champaign Police. Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards up to $5,000 for tips leading to an arrest.
