COVID-19: 89 at Shapiro, 244 in Kankakee County, less than 20% recovered as of Wednesday

Kankakee County Health Department officials announced this afternoon 16 new COVID-19 cases along with one new death to bring totals to 244 total cases and 13 deaths.  A total of 15 of today’s 16 cases announced were females.

Among those cases include 89 at the Shapiro Devleopmental Center in Kankakee.  Shapiro began receiving National Guard assistance this week in battling the pandemic.

Only 19% of the cases in Kankakee County have now recovered from the Virus.

  • 14 Cases (Manteno)
  • 43 Cases (Bourbonnais)
  • 134 Cases (Kankakee)
  • 9 Cases (St. Anne)
  • 8 Cases (Momence)
