DuPage County Warns Residents of Phone Scam Posing as Sheriff’s Deputies

Wheaton, IL – DuPage County residents are being targeted by scammers posing as sheriff’s deputies, claiming there is an arrest warrant against them and demanding gift cards for resolution.

According to the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office, these calls are fraudulent, and the office will never request money over the phone. Residents are urged not to share personal information or make payments if they receive such calls. 

Instead, they should contact their local police department or the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office at 630-407-2400. Community members are encouraged to share this information to prevent further incidents.
