Human remains discovered in Will County

JOLIET – Will County Coroner Laurie H. Summers announced Monday the discovery of human remains last Wednesday February 23rd, 2022, in an area located in the 700 blk of Patterson Rd in Joliet Twp.  

The Will County Sheriff’s police is investigating the case.  The Will County Coroner’s Office Cold Case Squad is also investigating the case.  The remains will be taken to the University of Illinois Forensic Anthropology division for further studies, to determine the age and sex of the remains.  DNA will be profiled by the Will County Sheriff.   

The Will County Coroners Office has submitted this case to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System The Will County Coroners Office urges family of missing individuals to contact their local Law Enforcement Agencies to give a DNA sample.

More information is expected following DNA testing.
