I-80 accident pins Sedan under Semi near New Lenox

NEW LENOX – A driver is in critical condition after their vehicle was pinned under the rear trailer of a semi Thursday morning.

It happened at 4:43am this morning when New Lenox Fire Protection District received a call for service for an accident with injuries about a mile east of Maple Street on I-80.  First responders extracted the driver immediately and were able to transport them to a local hospital. 

East Joliet Fire District, Mokena Fire District, Rendel’s Towing and the Illinois State Police all aided in the response. 

The cause of the accident is now under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
